| This paper studies the surviving and thriving of Xindu TV from perspective of sociology of news production in the new media times.The basic situation of Xindu TV is investigated thoroughly,including the work-flow,pattern and personnel structure,the system and news producers' control,capital restriction,influence of producers' different identity,producer career planning and TV station development prospects,by using the method of observation,questionnaire survey and deep interview.Those questions are clarified in this paper.First,what's the challenge of traditional news producing of Xindu TV in the new media times? How could Xindu TV cope with it? Second,what is the relationship and contradiction between TV media and news producers? Third,what's the survival condition of the news producer? Do policymakers have an overall plan to cope with the challenge brought by the new media?In the process of news producing,it is the news producer that plays the decisive role.So the research focuses on the news producer,the most important role in the process of news producing.Firstly,it is found that the insufficiency of news sources,low timeliness,lack of improved technique and capital is the main problem need to be solved in the traditional district TV media.The development of traditional media needs media convergence and transformation.But the news producing of Xindu TV did not keep in step with the development of new media during tthe media convergence and transformation.Besides,the new conception and communicating pattern of new media did not accepted by the traditional district TV media as they merely accept the new equipment and technique.So the media convergence would not be successful if these problem unsolved.Secondly,news producer plays a key role during the process of media convergence.Their pursuits in career and personal value of Xindu TV represent the restriction of journalistic professionalism which appeared as the control of the propaganda system,lack of capital gains and the contradiction between their ideal and reality.Their pursuits could cause the internal competition which could not affect the whole in the imperfection of Reward mechanism and innovation system.The essential reason is their struggle of unconcerned radical interest.Thirdly,the impact of the identity difference of the news producers on the production of news can not be ignored.For the news producers,there is a gap between Organization and Employ in News system.Identity of the news producers involves not only the position promotion and vocational development,and also the economic benefits.Xindu TV,thetraditional district TV media could not make the majority of the news producers content with their pursuits of career ideal and honor there.They need to seek a chance of capital gain and wealth accumulation.Their focus unconcerned on the news producing makes their news irregular.At last,The prospect of the development of the district TV media facing the challenge brought by the new media is being in a worst circumstances.Identity of the news producers has changed from a journalist with lofty ideals to a businessman.It is a very complex state of life for news producer.At the present stage,the problems in the process of news producing of Xindu TV is similar with the other District TV in our country.Therefore,a case study of the Xindu TV could bring some experience and reference for traditional media' transition. |
