Capital And Habitus:Research On The Dilemma Of Domestic Data Journalism Development

As the hottest news form in the era of big data,data news has become a hot topic in the global press circles in recent years.It has also attracted the attention of the Chinese academic community and is considered to be the ''new darling of the global press' '.Some scholars believe that it is the core competitiveness of news production in the era of big data,and even the ' father of the Internet'',Tim Berners-Lee,said that ''data Journalism is the future''.However,both in terms of theory and practice,the domestic data Journalism is in the exploratory stage and faces a series of tests such as data sources and technical processing.The core logic is the opening and cooperation of data,the rules and laws of data opening,the collaboration of media organizations,and so on.In China,the news field is affected by political fields,economic fields,cultural fields,and citizens' livelihoods.However,news must adhere to its own operational logic,reduce the influence from other fields,and obtain news reports and business resources from other fields,so as to provide its dissemination effectiveness and social influence.The data news itself is also part of the news field.It is still subject to the economic and cultural capital that determines the ''field''.The essence of this news is the latest technological means of global news competition.This study starts with the fundamental problem and takes the ''field theory'' of French sociologist Bourdieu as the research framework.It includes the concepts of ''field'',''capital''and ''habitus' ' and their relationship,[media Capital)(media habitus)] + [media field] = [media practice].The fundamental purpose of explaining field theory is to explain the practice of data journalism.The full text is divided into four chapters.The first chapter combines the field theory with the characteristics of data news,constructs the data news field,analyzes the basis for the independent existence and development of data journalism,and elaborates the practice subjects,competitive capital and spatial relations within the field,and so on.it's also obvious that the development of the data journalism has drawn attention.The second chapter studies and grasps the capital in the field and the habits of practitioners to elaborate the development difficulties of domestic data news.The capital is mainly from the perspective of the importance of data capital and the reasons for its conversion.It explains the lack of domestic data capital accumulation.Practitioner habits include the social environment and individual practitioners.They not only examine the impact of society on individual practitioners,but also consider how individual practitioners try to generate new feelings and values in the field.From these two perspectives,we fully demonstrate the disadvantages of the development of domestic data news.The third chapter mainly attempts to discuss the similarities anddifferences between Chinese and foreign data news through empirical research,and finds the lack of domestic data news,thus learning from each other's weaknesses,providing some inspiration for the difficulties of domestic data news practice.In the end,according to the results of the second and third chapters,we provide tentative suggestions or outlets for the development of domestic data news from a macro-micro perspective,so as to improve the follow-up research.
