Research On The Normalization Of Data Journalism Production In China

This paper sums up the basic content of data journalism production norms by mapping the changes of awards and evaluation criteria of data journalism awards in China and the West.With this as a frame of reference,five domestic data journalism columns from June 1,2018 to May 31,2019 were selected to analyze their content from news topics,data acquisition,data processing and data presentation,and to verify whether a relatively complete,comprehensive and targeted journalism production norm has been established in the field of domestic data journalism.Journalism production norms are shaped by specific social and historical conditions.Based on the interview texts of domestic data journalism producers,this paper analyzes the factors that affect the establishment of domestic data journalism production norms based on the current situation of the industry.Content analysis shows that the domestic data journalism does not fully comply with the norm defined by western data journalism practice.Compared with the Western journalism Awards,there are some problems in the current domestic data journalism production,such as unclear understanding of the concept,biased data orientation in the news production,weak technology realization ability,and lack of open concept.The national level standards of journalism information technology,professional norms of journalism,authoritative journalism award system and self optimization mechanism within the industry can promote the normalization of domestic data journalism production from the perspective of legal norms,voluntary norms and factual norms.
