In recent years,with the popularity of virtual reality(VR),more and more VR devices have been launched,and a great number of relevant applications have been applied in various industries,enriching people's lives.The requirements of VR application performance and user experience are enhanced.Therefore,how to improve the quality and user experience of VR applications has become a problem that developers urgently need to solve.To monitor the VR applications running in user environments and analyze their performance as well as user behaviors is one of the most effective ways.Firstly,this paper makes a research on related work about application and monitoring of VR.After then,based on Unity3 D and HTC Vive,a VR interactive scene is designed and a VR runtime monitoring solution is proposed.The main work of this paper includes the following three parts:(1)A VR interactive scene is designed.It allows users to finish some common interactive behaviors,including full-angle observing,position moving,object touching,object grabbing,object using and menu using.(2)A VR monitoring SDK is implemented.By adding monitoring scripts to the VR application,it collects data about device,performance,crash and user behaviors while the VR application is running in user environment.Then,these data are reported to a data analysis center.(3)A data analysis center is implemented.It receives and stores the data reported by the VR monitoring SDK,and generates a monitoring report with visualized charts by data aggregation and algorithm analysis,which helps developers to understand the runtime status of VR application and analyze the user behaviors.At last,the VR interactive scene designed by this paper is selected as a test case to verify the effectiveness of the VR runtime monitoring solution.
