Augmented reality (AR) based on mobile terminal is one of the current hot fields in mobile applications and human-computer interaction. Mobile Augmented Reality through handheld devices or intelligent terminals, enables to blend smart display technology, registration tracking technology, the actual situation fusion technology as well as human-computer interaction technology, making 3D virtual objects with the real scene in which seamlessly connect users, greatly enhanced people’s sensing range. The common AR techniques mostly adopt simple template matching methods to identify markers which are inaccurate and easily influenced by the change of light or occlusion, and often lead to tracking failure and it the process of achieving the automatic navigation of a mobile augmented reality is not very approving. To this end, we proposes a mobile augmented reality based Unity3D development of technology that can automatically identify a variety of complex switch markers and applied to the navigation system. The paper mainly deals with the following aspects:(1) This paper proposes an automatic navigation method of mobile AR based on Unity3D. Firstly,3D models of the scene are constructed using Unity3D and features points of the markers are detected and tracked by Vuforia engine. Then, according to the relative positions and angles of different markers, the 3D models can be rendered and animations or videos are played on the visual screen. Virtual buttons are used for virtual-reality interaction. Finally shows the whole process of how to build system environment;(2) College of mobile augmented reality navigation system automatically has been designed and implemented. The results were analyzed and tested. Nearly 40 markers were collected, such as nameplates and panels, etc. The corresponding two-dimensional or three-dimensional navigation information is superimposed. Experimental results show that this method can switch seamlessly augmented reality effects during the terminal moving process and have good robustness to illumination change and occlusion. What’s more, it has a recognition function extension, the markers even leave the camera field of view, can also be extended to identify and track, so that the virtual object is to maintain the correct proportions and the coordinate position. With the increasingly widespread application of smart terminals, mobile augmented reality developed in this paper can provide a richer and improved 3D interface, and be promoted into various industries and fields.
