People prefer to observe stereoscopic objects.With the development of the society,people desire general three-dimensional display technology.Nowadays,twodimensional display technology is still used to display stereoscopic objects,while some mature three-dimensional display technology like 3D glasses,VR etc.have been commercialized.However,people have to research more on three-dimensional display technology.The three-dimensional display technology is divided into three classes based on its principle,which is holographic,parallax 3D display and volumetic 3D display.Holographic is the technology that can record and reappear light's amplitude and phase.Lens imaging can only record light's amplitude.However,holographic can use interference to record light's phase into mediums,and then use diffraction to reappear light's amplitude and phase.Parallax 3D display is based on parallax principle to display 3D image.Volumetic 3D display construct plenty of voxel in the threedimensional space which form a 3D image.The three technology have its advantages and disadvantages.As volumetic 3D display technology has wide view field and natural display effect,we choose volumetic 3D display technology as basic technology.The major research is on overall view field three-dimensional display technology without visual equipment.A three-dimensional display system has been built,with which some experiments have been done.First,we analysis main three-dimensional display technology,and compare their characteristics.Based on the analysis,we choose volumetric three-dimensional display technology as theoretical basis of the system.Then,we designed the scheme of the system,which was that images of the stereoscopic objects' section were displayed on a rotated screen properly.We used Digital Micromirror Device and stepper motor to build the system.We also researched the image processing technology based on the system.Theoretically,the three-dimensional display system can display 35458560 voxels,and its refresh rate is 22.22 Hz.At last,we used the system to do some experiments to prove its feasibility.Experimental result showed that the system effective,but it had some shortcomings,on which some solutions were made.
