| In 2014,the 22ndWinter Olympics was successfully held in Russia Sochi.Russia has demonstrated to the world the development of the new Russian economy and the promotion of its international status.In recent years,China and Russia continue to promote good neighborly and friendly cooperative relations in the light of national interests.Therefore,during Sochi Winter Olympics,Chinese media paid a lot of attention to Russia,and wrote plenty of related reports.It has been a focal point in this industry about how we reported the Winter Olympics.Firstly,this study aims to provide a theoretical background and analytical method for analyzing the ideology of news discourse in Sochi Winter Olympics.Secondly,this method is used to analyze the related news reports of people's daily on Sochi Winter Olympic Games.Secondly,it uses this method to analyze the news reports of the People's Daily to the Sochi Winter Olympic Games,and to examine how they reflect various ideology through language use,aiming at improving the readers'critical awareness and sensitivity in reading Olympic related reports.Critical discourse analysis?CDA?is a socially-oriented application of linguistic analysis,which adopts the concepts and methods associated with the systemic-functional linguistics developed by Halliday.It aims to make clear the relationships between language and its social conditions,especially the relationship between language and ideology.This research selected 35 relative reports in Sochi Winter Olympics from October 1st2013 to March 31st2014,and conducted a qualitative analysis through critical discourse analysis and literature and text analysis.Fairclough's three-dimensional model is adopted as the analytical framework,which considers news as the unification of text,discursive practice and social practise.In the practise of text analysis,the dissertation borrows the idea of Halliday's three metafunctions of language and examines the linguistic features from multiple angles such astitle,modality and vocabularies.On the research of discourse practice,the concept of“intertextuality”is introduced to describe the phenomenon that discourses are connected and intertextuality is the process of inheriting.In the practice of social analysis,social determined elements and reporters ideology are analyzed in the exploration of China-Russia socialized incidents and social facts through the reports ofRussian Winter Olympics.The critical analysis of the 35 samples reveals that dominant ideologies are embedded in 35Olympics-related news,which directly or indirectly affects and controls the cognition of the public,and has important functions in shaping the attitudes and ideologies of the public.The People's Daily represents China's national will and speaks for China,Chinese ideologies are embedded by The People's Daily in the Olympic news reports.By analyzing the news reports on the Sochi Winter Olympic Games in the people's daily,it is found that the People's Daily in its Olympic news reports strongly shows the characteristics and ideas of the pluralistic compatibility of the Russian Olympic Games in Sochi.Through news discourse,it has established a Russian national image of great national characteristics,multi-party diplomacy,enthusiasm and hospitality,economic recovery and a great reputation in the international world.The study puts forward a practical language view of Olympic report and illustrates how the media in various countries use language to strengthen their political ideology.The study can not only enhance the reader's critical consciousness,but also provide readers with a critical thinking analysis method.At the same time,media coverage is the best mirror to reflect Olympic events.The experience of Russia hosting the Sochi Winter Olympics was very meaningful.Through the exploration of the specific operating modes and characteristics of Russia's various links,it provides learning opportunities for the 2022 Beijing Zhangjiakou Winter Olympic Games. |
