Metaphor,as a rhetoric device used more by human beings,is an important tool for human cognition in the world.Metaphorical research in news discourse becomes a hot topic.In the news discourse,especially in the era of Internet reading,title production has become more and more important,and its relationship with news text,context,rhetoric and other aspects is extremely close.This paper uses the metaphorical news commentary titled “People's Daily Review” WeChat public number from January 1,2017 to September 30,2017 as an example to study the semantics of news headlines based on the ontology research of news linguistics.The metaphorical rhetoric phenomenon in the lexical meaning combines the research on metaphor at home and abroad,analyzes the phenomenon,explains its social causes and the thinking of the journalistic linguistics that it brings to us.Discuss how to complete the mapping of a concept to another concept in a news comment heading metaphor,and to achieve the effect of communication through such mapping.Using discourse analysis techniques,this paper analyzes the meanings and cognitions of news commentary metaphors.Through such discourse analysis,it discusses that online news commentary metaphors have certain symbolic functions,rhetorical functions,communication functions,and social functions in news discourse..In view of its social function,starting from the relationship between metaphor and society,through the method of content analysis,it discusses the reflection and influence of metaphorical use of news commentary on society,and also from the impact of society on the use of metaphor in news commentary headline.From the perspective of analyzing the social significance of the news commentary heading practice.
