The content analysis for China Daily and The Sydney Morning Herald is made in this paper regarding to air crashes, the sub-category of disaster news, in order to reveal that how the news phases and news stages of news discourses are distributed when the same air crash accident was covered, then through which the emphasis and values orientation of the media is able to be speculated.Through the sample texts research, there are four findings, based on the exploration of China Daily and The Sydney Morning Herald, to be revealed that, first of all, China Daily’s constructive news discourse is a weakness in news reporting; Secondly, the balance of news discourse is a crucial dimension to set up media’s objectiveness; Thirdly, the poor confirmation and analysis to the event impose a disadvantage impact on the powerfulness and professionalism of China Daily; Last but not least, the more intense the correlation between news phases and news stages is, the more readability the story is worth going through.Finally, the concept of solution journalism is came up with regard to how to get air crash accident covered in media, which, promisingly, is beneficial for China Daily to report the disaster and international events, so that it enables to efficiently construct its news discourse to make the news coverage develop more reasonably and rationally.
