One of the most important challenges facing supply chain managers is the effective control of inventory.Supply chain inventories consist of the raw materials,components,assemblies,and finished goods necessary to support demand throughout the supply channel pipeline.At the core of inventory management resides a fundamental dilemma.When it comes to the timely fulfillment of customer requirements,inventory is necessary and useful;however,too much or the wrong inventory the wrong place is destructive of corporate well-being。Therefore,the manufacturers of supply chain research and analysis inventory management has great practical and significance.KP is the well-known enterprise in Telecommunication area.Our values are “Integrity,Innovation,Agility”.KP is seek profit through lean production and operation management control.Inventory ties up capital,from TQC point inventory is high risk for quality issue.Inventory management is core segment of business management.If can't control inventory at reasonable level company will face high cost and running risk of the business.If the inventory level too low may influence customer service and production efficiency,customer satisfaction rate etc.So KP company regard inventory management as the key point of the daily operation management.This thesis introduces the theory supply chain and inventory control of supply chain management.Clarifies the definition of inventory values,functions,meanwhile introducing advanced inventory management concepts,such as JIT,TQC,VMI,Kanban etc.Comparative and analysis of inventory management in supply chain with traditional patterns of inventory management.Base on this KP company find and spot inventory problems under supply chain environment,analyze the root cause from customers and demands change,vendor management,and internal procedure change three segments,also give some suggestions and methods on how to make improvement in KP company's inventory management.The improving methods include customer management enhance cooperation with different departments,reducing non-value added transaction and movement in whole supply chain management,the improvements should be taken from the information exchange as cooperation level.Starting from the internal management of enterprise through value steam analysis,strengthening the collaboration between departments and reduce non-value-added operations transfers transportation.Standardization of procedure to reduce inventories and production costs.We sincerely hope KP's experiences and research conclusion can support KP further improvements also can advise and alert other manufactures in the field.
