A Study On Media Construction Of Disaster Memory In A Case Of Smog

With the development of human society,the smog problem has directly affected the daily life of the public,became a popular topic of daily concern in recent years.As the chronicler of disaster events,the media is an important basis for the formation of disaster memory,as well as witnesses and recorders of disaster events in the disaster memory of smog.In this study,two newspapers,People's Daily and China Environment News,were chosen as the representatives of official memory.Two WeChat Subscriptions,“Survival Handbook in Smog"and "Friends of Nature",which is belong to NGO,were chosen as the representatives of unofficial memory.Researcher collect a full sample of the smog reports from January 2014 to March 2017,combing the content analysis and text analysis to study how traditional media and new media construct the disaster memory.From this study,we want to know what the characteristics of the official memory and unofficial memory are,under the background of media fusion.What framework has been constructed?How did them construct?What about the effects?From the study,we found that the newspaper,which represents official memory,and the WeChat,which represents unofficial memory,have their own characteristics in the construction of the disaster memory of smog.The official memory is different from the unofficial memory on the frame of construction form,theme,role of smog events.In terms of the construction strategy,the newspaper constructs the framework of the government's countermeasure under the government's position,uses the discourse of political rights,focus on the government in the reports,exerts the social function and controls the direction of the topic,strengthen the direction of public opinion,takes a position in the report and to propose clear and workable options.Wechats has established a framework for explaining the attribution of public positions to warn the public to protect themselves form hurts.The popular daily discourse used in the reports shows the human kindness in the unofficial memory.It emphasizes public scrutiny and accountability and uses multimedia to enhance the memory of disaster.In general,there is both interaction and antagonism between official memory and unofficial memory.The official memory focuses on the memory of achievements,the memory mobilization and the memory of reflection.The unofficial memory focuses on the memory od trauma and the memory of doubt.
