The Nature Of "Post-Truth" And The Characteristics Of "Grey Rhinoceros"

Although the phenomenon of "post-truth" has only attracted people's attention because of the 2016 presidential election in the United States,in the age of social media,the characteristics of the pre-assertive post-reversal and strong-minded emotions shared by the transmitters and receivers indicate that:"It is not an accidental phenomenon.It is profoundly affecting the operation and development of various fields in society.This article first clarifies the concept of "post-truth" and considers it different from false news or contending,but is a third reality that is between true and false,objective and subjective.Secondly,in the process of exploring the internal and external mechanisms that trigger the phenomenon of "post-truth",apart from a comprehensive analysis of political,economic,and cultural factors,this paper also believes that the alienation of public values caused by Internet use and precise push is the cause of "post-truth"phenomenon.The direct cause of flooding.Based on the data from the CGSS China Social Survey in 2015,this article conducts a correlation and regression analysis of Internet usage and public values,the use of mobile customized messages,and personal perceptions.The results show that while the use of the Internet has increased public awareness of political participation and democracy and freedom,it has also exacerbated the degree of alienation of personal values,such as the crisis of social confidence and the extreme development of individualism,and the use of customized mobile messaging has further promoted public recognition.Knowledge and understanding tend to be polarized,and both of the hypotheses in this paper have been verified.Thirdly,based on the internal and external mechanisms that trigger the phenomenon of "post-truth" proliferation,this paper points out that the "post-truth" has the truth to allow the relative relativity of the objective state,the truth to let the emotions of the passion and the performance,and the truth give way to time.The instant nature and the truth are in the interest of desire.These four characteristics are both the essential attributes of the "post-truth" and the root of its underlying crisis.Finally,this article believes that the phenomenon of "post-truth" is one of the negative effects brought about by the development of information technology.However,the hidden social crisis behind it has the characteristic of "gray rhinoceros",and people need to be vigilant.
