Planning And Control Of Data Merging Project Of Jilin University Library's System

As China gradually enters the era of big data information,modern libraries have gradually moved from a card model borrowing by hand to a networked and systematic model.With the merging of the six campuses of Jilin University,the management of document resources of Jilin University Library also needs to be integrated into a unified literature data management model from the decentralized data resource management model of each campus so as to facilitate readers and borrowers of all campuses.This requires the data of different formats in different systems of each campus to be extracted,analyzed,duplicated checking,deleted,and then converted to a unified format for merging.It is a very complex task of data integration and migration,therefore it is necessary to develop a deliberate management model to ensure its orderly implementation.Under this circumstance,Jilin University Library established this project as a system data integration project of Jilin University Library.System data integration project of Jilin University Libraryis a comprehensive and extraordinary software engineering project,so it requires high data quality and long project duration,and meanwhile it involves numerous departments and a large volume of data.At the same time,it requires multiple tasks to be carried out in an orderly manner.In this paper,System data integration project of Jilin University Library is the main research object.We use a variety of project management methods,and simultaneously plan and control the overall project progress to ensure the smooth progress of this project.First,after determining the project cycle,we list the main working procedures of the project and then make a project plan sheet through the WBS project decomposition method.Second,we display the project implementation schedule intuitively through the bar chart.Third,gantt charts are developed to comprehend the implementation of the project and the duration of the tasks during the implementation process so as to adjust the non-critical activities of the project tasks and shorten the project cycle.In the specific implementation of the project,several project control points are selected and monitored.Through the collection of control point data and integration,using the earned value method,the time deviation and cost deviationat the progress point are obtained.Then we analyze the causesof the deviations and make the rectification measures timely to avoid recurrence of such situations and ensure the successful completion of the next control point.Finally,we should ensure that the system data integration project of Jilin University Library be implemented according to schedule.
