An Analysis Of The Discourse Of Population And Family Planning In People's Daily(1980-2017)

Since the beginning of the 1980 s,our country started to take family planning as the basic national policy.The population and family planning work in our country has gone through nearly 40 years.Population and family planning work has always been the focus of people's attention.The discussion on population and family planning issues is also increasingly linked to economic and feminist issue.At present,our country is facing a more complicated population issue.It is of great significance to do discourse analysis of population and family planning news for news media to do better media guide work.Taking the coverage of the population and family planning of People's Daily as an example,this paper selects relevant reports from 1980 to the present as research objects,summarizes the characteristics of discourse and the direction of discourse changes by using quantitative content analysis and discourse analysis,and reflects on the influence of authoritative mainstream media on population Family planning reports build.On the basis of discourse analysis,this paper describes the social changes in our country from the perspective of population and family planning issues,expounds the relationship between the discourse construction changes and the social changes reported by the People's Daily on the population and family planning and the social implication behind the discourse changes.This paper analyzes discourse samples from four aspects: macroscopic texts,microstructures,style rhetoric,coherence and intertextuality.After research,it has been found that in the macroscopic structure,the pattern of the structure and the expression of the meaning are gradually complicated,the coverage of the report is gradually increased,the amount of information transmission is increased,the expression path is diversified,and the connotation of discourse is gradually enriched.From the microscopic point of view,the semantic structure of the People's Daily's family planning report is more and more complex and rich,with more and more tension,jumping feeling and rhythm.From the perspective of style and rhetoric,the language style reported by population and family planning in 40 years is generally a process of politicization,colloquialization,and more subjective to professional,life-oriented and objective transformation;The use of metaphor is more abstract,the scope is more extensive,the connection is more indirect,andhas a certain literary color;the use of quotations and sentences is more and more diversified and flexible;the frequency of digital use is greatly increased.The use of rhetoric gradually diminished and the use of rhetoric gradually increased.In particular,since 2013,more questions and answers have been formed at the outset through questions and answers."People's Daily" population and family planning reports on the use of the prototype has been running through.The typical characters and prototypes reported are consistent in nature with distinctive characteristics of the times and collectivism.However,the use of archetypes has also changed with the changes of the times.Profession,character and ideological understanding are all more and more characterized by the new era.Through discourse analysis,this paper summarizes the main characteristics of the changes in discourse coverage of the People's Daily in the past 40 years:from the official political discourse gradually transformed into professional discourse,the elite discourse is more attention,livelihood discourse gradually highlighted.These changes demonstrate the process by which China's news discourse returns to its essence.The discourse of this process of change and social change process is the same:This is precisely the social history of a more democratic and harmonious political environment in our country,a more pluralistic ideology,a continuous economic development,a real-time adjustment of population policies,the rapid development of the mass media,and the rise of the public's rights consciousness.
