Ritualization Escape:Cultural Practice Of Young Backpackers From The Perspective Of Communication

Since the 90 s of last century,backpackers began to encounter the spread of modernity in their lives.In this case,backpackers began to try to escape the dilemma through backpacking.This paper aims to explore the culture implications and connotation of the backpacker group in terms of travel motivation,travel preference,social status and online self-expression.The paper goes with the timeline of backpacker's journey.The first chapter introduces the origin of backpacker behavior by looking for the travel motivation of backpackers,starting with why their first trip started.According to the literature and interview transcriptions,the second chapter summarizes the behavior characteristics of the youth backpacker group by analyzing backpacker preference during the trip.Considering the network and virtual social network,three online platforms——Booking,Qiongyou and Douban World travel on a budget group are utilized to observe the social status of young backpackers online and offline in chapter three.The network travel note is the concrete form which has been widely used.Chapter four illustrates the network travel note with the theory of narratology,and then analyzes the network writing activities of the group of backpackers,and finally explores the culture implications of the backpackers group.Backpacker travelers look forward to escaping the mainstream lifestyle of the society through backpacking so that they are able to pursue a simpler,more ideal life that abandons the power of money.However,those backpackers who endow the backpack travel with ritual sense to get away from real life are actually trapped in such “Ritualization”.
