A Narrative Analysis Of The Small Theater In The Cultural Variety Show "National Treasure"

The National Treasure,an exploration program in the category of culture and expo,became the increasingly competitive black horse of cultural variety in late 2017.The wonderful narration of its small theatre has become an important reason for the National Treasure to stand out.According to the relevant theories of classical narratology and television narrative,in this paper,it classifies the story and discourse,analyses narrative characteristics of small theatre from the narrative structure,narrative logic,narrative characters,narrative situation,narrative subject,narrative sequence,narrative discourse and narrative skills,and comes to the following conclusions:firstly,the small theater uses rich narrative techniques,such as functional accessory scenes,multi-faceted role types,hierarchical narration way,and the compound focus of stars and national treasures,which greatly enhance the visibility and interest of storytelling.Secondly,the interweaving of fictional plots and real characters,real stories not only deepens the logic and rationality of the story,but also reduces the cultural threshold and closes the gap between the audience and the cold cultural relics.The time and space echo that constantly appears in the theme not only reflects the historical utility of traditional culture,but also strengthens the cultural significance of passing down from generation to generation.More importantly,the proper combination of Chinese unique cultural stories and original music adds attraction,at the same time touches the feelings of the"online generation" for inheriting cultural beliefs and guarding the spirit of national treasures.In order to further investigate the views of the "online generation" on the"National Treasure",the author analyzes the word frequency and emotional attitude of the first 200 or so popular comments in each episode of the bullet screen video website.The results show that,whether from the program content,program form,or from the program meaning,program level,it is unquestionable that the younger generation has great enthusiasm and high recognition for the National Treasure.It can be said that the National Treasure is a successful attempt to spread minority culture to the mass communication.The study of the narrative characteristics of the small theater is also an exploration of how to tell the Chinese story well.
