As part of the China's reform and opening-up system, the reform of the housing system has maken great achievement in our age. However, there are still serious problems in the development of the real estate industry in China. These problems are not only existed as economic issues, but they are also existed as mixed issues among the Chinese Government, the developers in the real estate industry, our common people and the media.Though basic research and analysis, this paper shows that as an effective way to get the information on real estate, the media has played an important role for the masses. When receiving various reports on real estate through the media, the masses can always be affected by different factors. They may follow the herd blindly and finally become some property speculators, which are considered to be irrational. Therefore, the media plays a crucial role in guiding the public reasonable housing needs in society.In this paper, the author first chose four main public press, which are the People's Daily, the Economy30minutes, the Phoenix and the Real Estate Industry. In order to come to objective conclusions, the author tried to make some basic analysis and research on the news reports on real estate issues in these four press during2010-2011.At the same time, the author makes further analysis on the behaviors of the masses who are affected by the public press. At last, though the research and analysis above, the main conclusion of this paper can be summarized as that the media does play a crucial role in guiding the public reasonable housing needs in society and it should play its role in guiding the public.
