In recent years,the concept of virtual reality has begun to appear frequently in the public,and virtual reality technology has gradually been popularized and applied in all walks of life,such as the film industry,education and cultural industries,tourism,aerospace and other fields.At the same time,various new types of virtual reality experience devices are emerged,such as HTC VIVE,Oculus Rift,Google Cardboard,Kinect and other virtual reality head-mounted display devices.The realization of virtual reality technology has introduced a new perspective for people to experience the virtual environment.With the global virtual reality market gradually matures,more and more scholars have set their sights on this emerging field.The virtual campus roaming technology is developed on the basis of virtual reality technology.Users can use virtual reality devices to experience the virtual campus landscape culture without leaving home.At present,most virtual campus roaming systems fail to meet the "3I" features of virtual reality technology.There are problems such as lack of realistic simulation effect of virtual campus,lack of immersive experience,poor interactive experience,lack of real-time performance,long development cycle and inconvenience of roaming devices and so on.In this paper,a new virtual campus roaming system is designed and developed.This paper has been studied and implemented in the study of 3d modeling of the virtual campus roving system,the virtual setting and the technology of the virtual roving,and proposed two ways to locate the location of the mobile device in the scene.And research on how to enhance the system's immersive experience,using cheap,portable Google Cardboard to incorporate smart phones,to make smartphones into a virtual reality prototype device.First of all,this paper introduces the virtual reality roaming technology,and selects the suitable scene roaming technology for the development of this paper.Then the demand analysis and system design of virtual campus scene roaming system are carried out.Secondly,this paper studies the modeling method of three-dimensional model based on geometric modeling technology to create and use the three-dimensional model of hunan university campus,texture and texture research method for the model given.Finally,the development and application of virtual campus roaming system are realized in Unity3d.The experiencers roam the scene through the Google Cardboard box.The system is highly immersive,portable and practical,and it has great significance to disseminate campus culture,protect campus environment and enrich the experience of campus tourists.It is an innovative experiment to present the campus environment through virtual reality,which has a wide application prospect and high degree of recognition.
