Comparative Research On Users Of Public Library And Archives Based On Their Service

Public libraries and archives play an important role in the development and construction of Public Cultural Service System in China.They have the function of preserving social information resources and providing information resources to the public.Public libraries and comprehensive archives have been developing with the development of times and society.On the one hand,the service concept of libraries and archives has changed,the service content has been rich,the service mode has been innovated.The service of public libraries and comprehensive archives has changed from centering on the librarian to centering on the user,which reflects the demand of social development.On the other hand,the rapid development of information technology has led public libraries and archives to become physical and digital complexes,with more emphasis on service efficiency and quality,more attention to the personalized services of users,ushering in a new era of public cultural services.This paper is divided into four parts:The first-chapter gives the research background,related concepts and the significance of the topic,as well as the utilization of public libraries and archives at home and abroad and the research status of users.In the second chapter,by comparing the service content and service mode of public library and comprehensive archives,the author discusses the differences of service between libraries and archives.The third chapter makes a comparative analysis of the users' types,psychology,demand and utilization methods of libraries and archives.Chapter Four discusses how public libraries and comprehensive archives can better meet the demand of users and provide better service to the public.As public service becoming a social norm,public libraries and comprehensive archives have been expanding their user groups,they should not only collect and preserve social information resources properly,but also let the public make good use of the resources.
