Fiber optic gyroscope is an important sensor for measuring the angular velocity,with its light-weight,small-volume,low-price,high-precision,high-reliability,easy-maintenance and other advantages.Fiber optic gyroscope will instead of the mechanical gyroscope in many systems,and greatly improves the overall system performance,reduce the cost of system maintenance.It was highly regarded by the users,especially the army.Fiber optic ring is a sensitive component of fiber optic gyroscope,and the uniformity of its stress distribution has significant influence on the accuracy of fiber optic gyroscope.Optical fiber winding machine is a device for winding optical fiber ring.In the process of winding into an optical fiber ring,the tension of optical fiber directly determines the quality of the optical fiber ring.Therefore,the tension control technology is the most important part of the optical fiber winding process,and the effect of the tension control directly affects the stress distribution of the optical fiber ring,which determines the accuracy of the fiber optic gyroscope.It can be seen that the tension control system is very important to the whole winding machine.Whether the tension control system meets the requirements determines the accuracy of the winding ring.By analyzing the advantages of quadrupole symmetrical winding method,the tension control device was designed,and based on this device,the total mechanical structure which is more easily understood was also designed.The total mechanical structure,complying the four-order symmetrical winding of the fiber and controlling the fiber tension,laid the mechanical foundation of the detection and control of the fiber tension in the winding process.The entire structure was divided into two symmetrical parts except the spindle,and the two parts,whether on-line or not,can detect the fiber tension through the tension control feedback system.The causes of fiber tension was analyzed.It is concluded that the fiber tension caused by the difference between the thread and the wheel is the main reason for the fiber tension.The mechanical model of the loop,the row wheel and the fiber was established,and the relationship between the tension of the fiber and the speed of the loop and the wheel was deduced.It was concluded that the constant of the fiber tension can be achieved by adjusting the rotational speed of the pay wheel.The fiber tension control feedback system was designed,and the actuator of the system was a pay wheel motor.The speed control of the pulley was mainly controlled by the PID algorithm,so as to achieve the purpose of making the fiber tension constant.Finally,the experimental results show that the control of the wheel speed can be realized by PID control algorithm.During the experiment,the tension sensor was calibrated,and the PID parameters were set by the experimental method.Then,the setting value of the fiber tension was given,and the loop motor is started.The system is wound and the values from tension sensor were collected by the host computer.
