As an important distributing center of resources and information, the library is playing an increasingly important role in the process of social development. From the barcode to RFID technology, the book information management is gradually changing to automation. In order to make full use of library resources, most libraries have deployed the 24-hour self-service library system. The massive flow of books often leads to miss-shelved books, which makes libraries suffer from complaints and dissatisfaction from readers.Book inventory is one of the key tasks to solve the problem about miss-shelved books and it is an important part of library management.Book inventory can help ordinary users to find the books they need,so as to improve the quality of library services. However, the traditional inventory model will cost a lot of manpower and material resources, making it difficult to carry out.Nowadays, many methods based on RFID technology are proposed, but there are still many defects.Considering the above problems, this paper proposes a book inventory method based on RFID technology.By the RFID signal sensing and robotic navigation characteristic, this method uses data analysis, intelligent classification, curve fitting and other methods to classify books into the actual shelves and layers and determine the relative order of all books on each layer. Finally,we design and implement a robotic book inventory system based on the above method. It can move along shelves automatically and check books in this process so as to determine the real-time position of books and feedback to the staff. The main hardware devices of the system are the RFID scanner and the mobile platform. The RFID scanner is the basic device and the mobile platform provides technical supports for the function of positioning and navigation. After a large number of tests,we found that the system has a high operating efficiency and it meets the needs of various types of libraries. At the same time, the system has achieved 97%of the inventory accuracy and 1%of the scanning lost rate. This is a very high accuracy, but there is still much room for improvement. The goal of the method and system based on RFID is to realize daily and automatic book inventory. It also aims to reduce the labor intensity of the library staff and improve the efficiency and accuracy of book inventory. In addition, this thesis puts forward the idea of eombining RFID technology with robot technology for the first time. With path planning, autonomous navigation and other intelligent technology,we have implemented an extensible and loosely coupled automated book inventory system. It has an important guiding significance for realizing the completely automatic book management target in the future.
