With the development of information technology,more and more libraries adopt RFID technology.Currently,the smart library using RFID technology has realized librarian workstation,shelf check-in and check-out,book inventory and security access.The book inventory technology can shorten the time for readers to search books,and it also can help libraries to save lots of time and labor.However,there still exist the following problems on the book inventory using RFID technology.When the librarian uses PDA or smart trolley to scan books in a specific layer,the antenna cannot detect all the books in this layer if the reader has small power,which makes people under the misapprehension that the undetected books have been lost.If the reader is set to a larger power,the books on the other layers are also likely to be detected if they are within the range of the antenna's identification.In this case,the librarian will put these interferential books in the target layer,which will make the books in the wrong layers.In view of the methods which the library usually uses to inventory,this paper propose the book inventory algorithm for books in a specific layer and the book inventory algorithm for all the books in the library or the branch library in independent space.In the book inventory algorithm for books in a specific layer,we exploit the difference of relative reading rate and the change of tags' RSSI between books in this specific layer and the other disturbed books.On this basis,we use the random forest algorithm to build model.At last,we adopt this model to predict whether the books are in the current layer.In the book inventory algorithm for all the books in the library,it is usually used to search missing books and misarranging books.When requiring to find missing books,we can get the optimum power and distance range and scan all the books in the library.When requiring finding both misarranging books and missing books,we must get a correspondence between book tags and layer tags.To realize the algorithm,we adopt the power,the tag's RSSI and the relative reading rate to distinguish books.On the basis of the algorithms,we realize a prototype system of book inventory under the simulation of library.Through many experiments,the validity of the algorithms is verified.These algorithms can be applicable for book inventory,improve the efficiency and get good effect in actual system.
