At present,the competition in economic activities is becoming increasingly fierce due to the increasing prosperity of social economic activities.Facing In order to enable enterprises to adapt to the increasingly fierce competitive environment and win the advantage,many enterprises began to apply the management concept of Supply Chain Management into their enterprises.Therefore,how to choose the right suppliers is the key to affect the success of the competition,in which the core task is how to evaluate and approve the suppliers.Hewlett-Packard Company(US,hereinafter referred to as the "HP"),founded in1939,is one of the largest IT firms in the world.As one of the world's most famous manufactures of computers and related products,HP's main products are computers and computer related products.At the same time,computer accessories products are also an important part of HP products and profits.In recent years,computer accessories product division of HP is constantly developing and approving new suppliers,as well as developing new products in response to increasing competition in the market and satisfying the diverse customer requirements.Combined with the theory of Supply Chain Management and Business Process Reengineering,this paper analyzes supplier selection process and approval process of HP computer accessories product.Firstly,the problems in the existing supplier approval process and the root causes of these problems are identified through description and analysis of existing supplier approval process.Secondly,the supplier approval process is reengineered.The key processes and assistant processes identified by using the value chain analysis principle and questionnaire survey method,and the key processes reengineered,including the process of search potential suppliers and the process of the factory audit for potential suppliers.Focused on solving the problems of single source channel and the loosely audit process for supplier factory audit.And the innovation of the reengineering program is analyzed.Finally,this paper puts forward the implementation steps and the problems that should be paid attention to during the implementation of the reengineered supplier approval process are described.The research and implementation of the business process reengineering can be effective to improve the efficiency of HP computer accessories product supplier approval,better meet customer demands and imporve market competitiveness of HP accessories products.Meantime,it can be gradually extended into other divisions in HP and HP partner companies to improve the efficiency of supplier approval and achieve a Win-Win situation.
