The number of graduate students is increasing year by year,China has become a major country in graduate education, and the country attaches greater importance to the quality of the graduate education. The postgraduate education system in China implements a supervisor system, and the interactive relationship between the supervisors and graduate students is an important factor that cannot be ignored, which is companying to each stage of the postgraduate study. However,at the current stage, due to the expansion of the student-teacher ratio, the level of the teachers and students is uneven, and the implementation of the mentorship system is inadequate, the interaction between teachers and students is insufficient, and the relationship between teachers and students is “rigid”.It affects the interactive relationship between supervisors and graduate students, and it is not conducive to improve the quality of graduate education. Therefore,it is necessary to study the interactive relationship between supervisors and graduate students. In this study, the graduate students in Shihezi University were all taken as the survey objects.Based on the literature review,a comprehensive analysis was conducted by using questionnaires and interviews to analyze the current status of the interactive relationship between supervisors and graduate students.By analyzing the data and interview content,it is found that:(1)There are differences in the effectiveness of interaction between different types of graduate students: the four dimensions of the effectiveness of interaction between teachers and students in different grades of graduate students are significantly different, such as information exchange, emotional integration, behavior guidance, and opinion identification. The graduate students of different majors have significant differences in information exchange;graduate students with or without class cadres have differences in emotional integration significantly;graduate students with and without work experience have significant differences in opinion identification.(2)The following problems exist in the interactive relationship between supervisors and graduate students: ignorance of personality and other compatibility when supervisors and graduate students choose each other;insufficient interaction frequency between teachers and students;inconsistent interaction goals;the initiative and feedback is insufficient;at the present stage, the interaction between teachers and students deviates from what graduate students expect.(3)Factors affecting the interactive relationship between supervisors and graduate students: Personal aspects mainly include learning interests, attitudes, personality characteristics, and learning initiative;supervisors mainly have mentoring attitude, mentoring ability, mentorship, and morality Quality;the school mainly have the quality supervision of guidance, the student-teacher ratio, the mentor selection system and the mentor evaluation system(4)Propose corresponding countermeasures for the problems existing in the interactive relationship between supervisors and graduate students at this stage: in terms of teachers and students, teachers should implement different interactions for different students;and graduate students should improve their learning initiative;perfect interactive content and ensure interactive quality;unify the goals of interaction;and improve the awareness of feedback. In terms of schools, they should have a system of mutual selection of teachers and students;strictly control the quality of graduate students and tutors;pay more attention to the special groups of graduate students;provide a platform for interaction between supervisors and graduate students.
