Postgraduate education is at the top of China's national education system and is an educational activity for cultivating high-level professionals for the country.The postgraduate student is the reserve force for the construction of the national talent team.The supervisor is the key factor for cultivating postgraduate students.The two constitute the main body of graduate education.Now China is in the critical period of achieving the goal of "The Two Centenary ".The quality of postgraduate education plays an important role in the realization of the Chinese dream.Many studies have proved that the relationship between postgraduate students and supervisors has an effect on the quality of postgraduate education.Since the implementation of the "tutor system" in postgraduate training in China,the relationship between postgraduate students and supervisors has generally shown a harmonious trend.However,in recent years,with the continuous improvement of the social and economic level and the expansion of the postgraduate student enrollment scale,the conflicts between postgraduate students and supervisors are endless.Therefore,it is an important subject to build a harmonious teacher-student relationship and maintain the physical and mental health of teachers and students.The study object is full-time postgraduate students and supervisors.The main contents include introduction,theoretical basis,investigation and analysis of the status of postgraduate student-supervisor relationship,problems in postgraduate student-supervisor relationship and countermeasures.Based on the background characteristics and behavioral characteristics of the respondents and using descriptive statistics,the relationship is analyzed from six perspectives.The statistical method of difference analysis is used to compare the differences in the performance of supervisors and students from different aspects.The current postgraduate student-supervisor relationship is generally good,but there are still some problems such as:(1)The supervisor and student do not know each other well before establishing the guidance relationship,(2)The liberal arts supervisors and students are in lack of effective communication,(3)Labor-management exists in the relationship between supervisors and students in science and engineering,(4)Students lack effective channels in safeguarding their rights,(5)The supervisor and student's value pursuit is not consistent,(6)Both supervisors and students are lack of effective mediation.Good supervisor-student relationship needs to be constructed from the aspects of postgraduate students,supervisors,university system and social environment:(1)Improve the matching between supervisors and students through scale data,(2)Improve the supervisor responsibility system and postgraduate management methods,(3)Improve supervisor selection and evaluation system,(4)Students should weaken their utilitarianism and exert subjective initiative,(5)Adhere to the principle of giving priority to educating people and strengthen the guidance for postgraduate students,(6)Entrust third-party psychological institutions to provide guidance for supervisors and students.
