The Chinese Textbook for Junior High School was one of the most important textbooks for junior high school Chinese during the Republic of China.It was edited by Zhu Wenshu and proofread by Shu Xincheng and Lu Feikui.It was published and distributed by Shanghai Zhonghua Book Company in 1933.This textbook consists of six volumes,compiled in accordance with the Ministry's "Chinese Curriculum Standard for Junior High School" and used in conjunction with the "Reference Book for Chinese Reading for Junior High School" compiled by Zhang Wenzhi,Yu Shouzhen and Zhang Shenbo.The book was reprinted 14 times after its publication,and it was not until the outbreak of the Anti-Japanese War in 1937 that reprinting stopped.This paper takes the classical Chinese text selection of the Chinese text reader for junior high school as the research object,and points out the influence of educational thoughts,educational system,curriculum standards and the three major publishing houses of the Republic of China.After that,it further clarifies the characteristics of the selected writings in classical Chinese in this textbook,such as distinct characteristics of the times,strong practicability,and various types of themes.In the Chinese Reading for Junior High School,the arrangement of classical Chinese basically follows the spiral pattern of "narrative-expository-argumentative",aiming at following the psychological development rule of students from easy to difficult.Even in the same style,the difficulty of selecting and editing is progressive step by step.In addition,classical Chinese texts are mostly selected and compiled according to style,which also coincides with the fact that different styles should adopt different teaching methods according to style characteristics,thus providing reference for the selection and teaching of classical Chinese textbooks today.In the process of discussion in this article,the author cited the original text of the textbook and the chart,highlighted the characteristics of the selected writings in classical Chinese in the above-mentioned "junior high school Chinese reader",and summarized and expounded the enlightenment to the selected writings in classical Chinese textbooks in the future.First of all,the selection and compilation of classical Chinese should pay attention to the times.The Chinese Textbook for Junior High School was compiled in a turbulent era.This textbook has selected a large number of works with national feelings,which is exactly the need of the times.Secondly,the Chinese Textbook for Junior High School contains many writings in classical Chinese of the Republic of China,which promotes the selection of writings in classical Chinese in teaching materials.At present,the selection of writings in classical Chinese can also pursue being close to reality and make writings in classical Chinese really "live".Thirdly,there are a large number of recommended bibliographies in the Chinese Textbook for Junior High School,but there is no recommendation on related bibliographies of classical Chinese,which makes classical Chinese teaching only stay in class.Good teaching materials should not only pay attention to classical Chinese teaching in class,but also pay attention to the recommendation of extracurricular classical Chinese works,so that students' learning can extend from class to extracurricular.
