Group Work Intervention In Construction Of The Peer Support Network Of The "Elderly Immigrants"

With the advancement of urbanization and population aging in China,structural factors such as the migration of floating population,the increase of the demand for the third generation of care,the preference of family pension model and the effect of the one-child policy have emerged,and the actual demand for family reunion,have given birth to the special group of the "elderly immigrants".They are separated from the original social support system,and encounter difficulties in integrating into different cities.Good peer group relationship can help the "elderly immigrants" integrate into urban life faster and better.The use of group work method can help the "elderly immigrants" to solve the problems of limited conditions for making friends,lack of communication ability,lack of family support and low participation in community activities,which is of great significance for the rapid and good construction of peer support network.Based on the investigation,interview and needs assessment of the "elderly immigrants" in JX community of Langfang City,the workers designed under the guidance of social support theory and group dynamics theory,and under the guidance of professional methods and skills of group work,formulated the corresponding intervention plan.According to the current needs of eight service objects,the social worker has carried out seven group activities in four stages: beginning,development,maturity and end,and is committed to providing necessary support including emotion,information and skills for service objects.So as to establish a peer support network,and promote the "elderly immigrants" to get rid of the difficulties of making friends and quickly integrate into the life in other places.Finally,the overall effect of the group work is evaluated and summarized,and the problems in the practical process are reflected.The whole process of intervention has made some positive results in helping the service object to build a new peer support network and integrate into the community and other places' life as soon as possible.Through the research,it is found that enhancing the skills of making friends is very important for the expansion of peer relationship.In addition,cultivating the awareness of mutual assistance has an auxiliary role in peer communication and family support has a positive impact on the construction of peer support network.Group work can play an important role in the construction of the "elderly immigrants" peer support network.However,considering the lack of long-term and sustainability of the service effect,combined with the practical experience of this time,reasonable suggestions are put forward,which provides a reference for the follow-up practical research on the construction of the "elderly immigrants" peer support network.
