College is an important turning point in life,for freshmen,due to the great changes in the external environment,various problems may arise at the initial stage of admission because they do not adapt to the new environment.If these adaptability problems cannot be effectively solved in time,it will not only affect the current study and life,physical and mental health of freshmen,but also may have a negative impact on their entire college career.With the increasing popularity of adaptation problems of freshmen,colleges are paying more and more attention to their adaptation education.However,under the new situation,the original entrance education for freshmen in colleges can on longer meet the needs of students,and it is urgent to find new working methods,which provides a broad space for the intervention of professional social work.E University has long attached importance to the adaptive education of freshmen during their admission,every faculty has made many attempts in combination with its own characteristics.Among them,S Faculty has achieved good results in the growth camp activities for freshmen,which carried out by relying on social work major since 2007.Therefore,in order to carry out the adaptability education for freshmen more effectively,the student affairs department of E University relies on professional social work and coordinate s other student affairs systems to carry out the growth camp project for all freshmen of grade 2018,aiming to help them adapt to college study and life faster and better.The author uses the method of participatory observation to go deep into the project practice of the growth camp for freshmen,studies the practical process of social work intervention in the freshmen adaptive education,and describe,analyze and reflect on the whole development process of the "Walking with You" freshmen growth group from preparation to completion.The study found that,first of all,freshmen have a series of adaptability problems in the new environment due to the lack of necessary social support.From the different sources and contents of social support,it is mainly analyzed that the lack of adaptability education for freshmen leads to insufficient objective information support for their study and life,and the lack of interpersonal interaction leads to insufficient emotional support.Secondly,under the guidance of social support theory,professional social work improves the ability and level of obtaining social support for the freshmen by intervening in their peer support network,which can help freshmen effectively deal with adaptability problems and improve their adaptability in real life.According to the evaluation results,88%of the freshmen think that the group's intervention can effectively help them improve their adaptability,thus showing that the social work intervention has strong effectiveness.Finally,the author tries to summarize the general way of social work intervening in the adaptability education of freshmen from the practical research of freshman growth camp,that is,relying on the professional method of mutual benefit mode group work,taking peer coaching as the practical strategy,taking group motivation as the process mechanism,taking peer support as the intermediary factor,and promoting the solution of adaptation problems and the improvement of adaptability through improving the peer support level of freshmen.At the same time,on this basis,the development of school social work in colleges and universities is prospected.
