With the deepening of economic globalization, the global value chain linking countries and departments around the world is gradually extended and developed by multinational corporations, and the huge trade interests and other countries and departments participating in the global value chain are given.Economic benefits.Since the reform and opening up,China has become more and more involved in the global value chain, and China's economy has also developed rapidly. In recent years,China has put forward the requirements for the high-end in the global value chain.China has long been at the low end of the global value chain. Then, whether the changes in the way of participating in the global value chain have an impact on the employment situation in China, what is the impact of this article Research questions, this paper starts from the global value chain participation and status, and studies its impact on employment.First, research and analysis of the global value chain's measurement indicators and employment status. The latest data from the World Input-Output Database(WIOD)is used primarily.First, the trade value-added algorithm is described, which breaks down a country or departmental export into 16 parts.Second, the global value chain participation index is measured. The participation degree is divided into forward participation and backward participation.Based on the database data, the 2000-2014China's overall, service industry and manufacturing participation index is calculated and compared. The results show that China's overall industry is mainly engaged in backward participation, and manufacturing participation is greater than the overall and service industries.Third, the global value chain status index calculation, based on the latest data of the database to calculate China's overall, service industry and manufacturing status index from 2000 to 2014,and analysis and comparison, the results show that China's overall industry global value chain status is low, service industry The status of the global value chain has improved rapidly.Fourth, for the compilation and analysis of China's total employment and labor compensation data,it shows China's current employment situation.Second,a theoretical analysis of the role of global value chains in employment.Explain the impact of global value chain on employment, and derive the transmission mechanism of global value chain on employment from three aspects of international factor flow, technology spillover and industrial upgrading, analyze the differentimpacts of global value chain on employment and put forward theoretical assumptions.Third,a quantitative analysis of the role of global value chains in employment.Using the panel data for the period from 2000 to 2014,the measurement model will be established for the overall, service, and manufacturing industries, and corresponding measurement tests will be conducted. It is found that the forward participation in the global value chain has a positive impact on the employment of the general industry, and the backward participation and status index have a negative impact on employment. For the overall and classified analysis of the manufacturing and service industries,it is found that the increase of the status index significantly increases the employment of low-and medium-tech manufacturing, and promotes the forward participation of the service industry to help employment growth,in which the knowledge-intensive service industry increases the participation helps employment growth. Finally, summarize the research conclusions and put forward corresponding policy recommendations.First, promote the upgrading of China's low-and medium-tech manufacturing industries to the high-end in the global value chain.Second, promote the forward participation of China's service industry in global value chains.Third, attach importance to the development of its own science and technology and increase investment in technological innovation.
