In the Mathematics Curriculum Standard of Compulsory Education promulgated in2011,"geometric intuition" was first put forward as the core concept,and teachers should pay attention to the development of students' geometric intuition ability in the process of education and teaching.The ability of geometric intuition plays an important role in students' mathematics learning and exploring.Therefore,this paper chooses the ability of geometric intuition as the key content,aiming at investigating the status quo of students' ability of geometric intuition in junior three,exploring the possible influencing factors,and putting forward teaching suggestions to promote the development of students' ability of geometric intuition.Through consulting a large number of documents,this paper expounds the connotation and educational value of geometric intuitive ability,determines the evaluation index and grading level of geometric intuitive ability,and then compiles the test paper of geometric intuitive ability according to grading level.Then the researcher investigates 464 junior middle school students in three junior middle schools in Linxia.Finally,the test results are analyzed by SPSS software to explore the current situation of junior middle school students' geometric intuitive ability.At the same time,18 students who participated in the test are selected for case analysis to explore the factors that may affect the level of junior middle school students' geometric intuitive ability.Finally,according to the conclusion of the study.Some teaching suggestions are put forward for teachers to develop the geometric intuitive ability of junior three students.Through investigation and research,the following conclusions are drawn:(1)The level of geometric intuition ability of junior three students is generally good,but there are great differences among students in different schools.(2)There are differences in students' geometric intuition ability in different schools,and the first middle school has a better overall performance.(3)There is no significant difference in the overall level of geometric intuition ability between students of different genders,but there are significant differences in various dimensions.(4)Students' intuitive insight and imagination are good,but their construction ability is weak.Through case study,it isfurther understood that students' mathematical thinking quality and mathematical ability have great influence on their geometric intuitive ability.Moreover,students' geometric intuitive ability is related to students' daily life experience.Besides,teachers' training and training factors in daily teaching also have great influence on students' geometric intuitive ability.According to the above test investigation and case analysis results,the following teaching suggestions are put forward: teachers should cultivate students' geometric intuitive thinking and strengthen their awareness of application;guide students to build independently and improve their drawing ability;develop students' space concept and promote geometric intuitive ability;encourage students to connect with life and enrich their experience in geometric activities.
