| The age of secondary school students is generally between 12 and 15 years old.At this stage,adolescents have great physical and psychological changes and are very unstable.At the same time,they face many contradictions and shocks such as further studies,interpersonal exchanges,and emotional changes.How to adapt to and cope with these changes become the ability that contemporary middle school students urgently need to cultivate.Schools are places where young people are trained to adapt to society and acquire the knowledge and skills necessary for future life.For children and young people,being able to adapt to school life and successfully complete their studies,they will have an important role and significance for their future life and work.Junior high school freshmen enter a new environment and face these challenges.Therefore,helping them adapt to school life and help them successfully complete their studies has become a topic worth attention.The group work of social work have great efficiency in helping people to change and grow,so this paper mainly studies the role of the group work in helping junior high school freshmen to adapt.Based on the author’s experience in a middle school in Tianjin for one year,this paper finds that group work has positive effects in relieving students’ study stress,improving students’ interpersonal skills,and promoting students’ bad mood change.This paper is divided into four parts: The first chapter introduces the background,significance and general situation of domestic and foreign research;The second chapter uses the "Secondary School Adaptation Questionnaire" designed by Hou Jing from Beijing Normal University to investigate the school adaptation status of sixth-graders in the school and presents the results with descriptive statistics.The overall fitness of students was found to be above average,with one third of the total with lower scores,and with little difference between genders.The main problems involve learning stress,interpersonal tension,and low emotional satisfaction.According to the guidance of system theory,the author analyzes the reasons why students have these problems from the perspective of school,family,and individual.The third chapter design targets services based on needs,and describe the implementation process with emphasis on the use of social worker skills.The fourth chapter is the evaluation of service effectiveness.Through the methods of pre-test and post-test measurement,satisfaction survey,and non-structured interviews,the performance of workers and changes in team members are evaluated.The results show that the group work has played a positive role in helping the group members to reduce learning stress,enhance their interpersonal skills,and enhance their emotional satisfaction. |
