| As China ’ s economy flourishes in recent years and the level of national education rises continuously,an increasing number of individuals have access to higher education and the quantity of freshmen also soars.When freshmen are embraced in a new environment in the campus,they need to gradually acquaint themselves with the environment and learn how to live in a harmony with it.Nonetheless,there will be varying degrees of maladjustment stemming from personal internal or external reasons in the process of adapting to the school environment.Four-year college life and even their future development are up to whether they get through this adaptation stage well.In view of freshmen’s maladjustment,colleges and universities have set adaptation education in motion by means of admission education and psychological counseling.All the same,research statistics shows that traditional admission adaptation education is basically useless for freshmen to adapt to the campus environment.If group work is utilized to settle down freshmen’s campus adaptation,it can help them adapt to the new environment,and also flesh out the freshmen’s admission education.Referring to social adaptation theory,social learning theory and group dynamics theory,this thesis centers on freshmen of Y College of X University enrolled in 2020,obtains all-round information on their campus adaptation by means of questionnaire,participatory observation and interview,and gives in-depth analysis on their maladjustment from three aspects: living environment,learning environment and interpersonal environment.Starting from the perspective of social work,this thesis selects ten freshmen of Y college to set up a growth group,design activity schemes and do pragmatical research on freshmen adaptation.In the wake of group activities for six times,team member visibly ease their anxiety and negative emotions and make their interpersonal communication ability,self-management ability and adaptation ability a leapfrog.Amid the whole pragmatical process,this thesis also does an intervention effect evaluation through participating observation and satisfaction survey.The results reveal that group members visibly refine their campus adaptation ability,and the group work registered remarkable effects in solving their campus adaptation.Colleges and universities can learn from the methods of social work to do student management. |
