The essence of improving teaching efficiency is to obtain maximal educational results in the unit time.That being said,effective classroom teaching is to maximize the benefit of the45-minute classroom time.Obviously,allocation of classroom teaching time directly affects the quality of classroom teaching.Therefore,management of classroom time is critical in this regard.This research investigated classroom time management by means of literature research,interview,questionnaire,case analysis and observation focusing on consciousness and behavior of time management during classroom teaching in high school teachers in Ganzhou City,in order to illucidate the current style and efficiency of classroom teaching time management.We found that the general issues of classroom teaching time management in high school teachers mainly included:(1)Teachers ' consciousness of classroom teaching time was weak,(2)Allocation of classroom teaching time was unreasonable,(3)The teachers had insufficient grasping of the best teaching time and teaching rulecy,(4)The teaching method was monotonous and dull,instruction method predominating;(5)Poor management of the classroom order lead to unnecessary loss of classroom teaching time,(6)The teachers ' professional skills were not solid enough,and(7)The students ' time concept was weak.Based on these results,the following strategies for implementing effective management of classroom teaching time are proposed:(1)to strengthen the teachers ' consciousness of classroom time and management ability.To achieve this goal,the schools should provide adequate training on time management,establish classroom teaching time management evaluation system and perform evaluation as such.Simultaneously,the teachers should pay more attention to improvement of their professional skills and ability of scientifically planning their classroom teaching time.In addition,focus should be imposed on the learners as well to improve time consciousness and management ability of high school students.We hope that this study can help high school teachers to pay more attention to management of their classroom teaching time,so that they are able toallocate classroom teaching time rationally to promote the quality of their classroom teaching,and promote their academic performance and their career growth in turn.
