Children's songs are short poems with folk songs that are mainly accepted by young children.Children's songs are widely used in language teaching for children.This paper takes the primary Chinese learners of English-speaking children in the Patea area of New Zealand as the research object,and studies the influence of children's songs in Chinese vocabulary teaching.The author divides the experimental objects into the children's song teaching group(67 people)and the general teaching group(50 people).The ordinary teaching group replaces the children's song teaching with other teaching methods such as traditional teaching method,game teaching method,physical teaching method and card method.The author collects first-hand data and analyzes it through classroom observation,questionnaires,and semester quiz.Classroom observations are used to understand the difficulties in the teaching of children's songs in the most intuitive way.The questionnaires mainly realize students' attitudes towards Chinese vocabulary and the expectations of learning Chinese vocabulary.The semester test is used to verify the final effect of students learning Chinese vocabulary.The results of classroom observations show that the teaching of children's songs has a significant effect on memorizing Chinese nouns;it has a positive effect on mastering the use of Chinese morphemes and understanding vocabulary;however,it has no obvious effect on mastering Chinese characters.The results of the questionnaire show that the students in the general teaching group are not accurate enough to grasp the specific objectives of Chinese vocabulary learning.In contrast,the expectations of the children's song teaching group are more realistic,and they are more enthusiastic about Chinese vocabulary learning than the students in the general teaching group.The results of the semester test show that the vocabulary learning effect of the children's song teaching group is significantly higher than that of the general teaching group.
