Literacy is the foundation for primary school students to learn Chinese.It even affects the learning of other subjects.According to some of the previous researchs'reviews,the author applies the theory of the "six-book" creation method to analyze the Chinese character configuration,design the literacy course for teaching,and learning of Chinese characters in combination with the context of the text.The author enhances the students' literacy ability through the evolution of Chinese characters and the use of the Chinese character-maken law in the literacy classes.At the same time,students would understand Chinese cultural connotations via the characters of Chinese.The sample of this research is Year One pupils from two Chinese national schools(SJKC)in the southern Kinta district,Perak,Malaysia.The sample is 34 pupils from Year One class and is distributed into two groups.Group A which consists of 17 pupils acts as the experimental group using Chinese character-maken law learning method while Group B which is also consisted of 17 pupils acts as the control group using conventional method of teaching.The objective of this research is to prove the effectiveness of Chinese character-maken law learning would improve the performance of pupils from the experimental group in answering Chinese character questions.The research instruments used are pilot study,pretest and posttest.The research design used for this finding are quasi-experimental design and the control group.SPSS programme version 23.0 and its value t is used to compare the effectiveness of Chinese character-maken law teaching and conventional method of teaching in answering Chinese character questions.In overall,most of the pupils who had been given the Chinese character-maken law learning approach welcomed it.The findings of this research is to prove the effectiveness of Chinese character-maken law could improve the performance of pupils in answering Chinese character questions.This thesis has been divided into five chapters:The introduction of the first chapter includes the status of research in Malaysia and overseas,the reasons and purposes of the topic chosen,the contents and methods used in the research,and the source of data.The author had seeked the effective literacy teaching methods by readings of the related literature materials and conducted the quasi-experimental teaching implementation.The second chapter is to explain the teaching methods of literacy and its teaching advantages.Teachers would be choosing the appropriate and multi-style literacy teaching methods.Teachers also integrated the actual situation of students' learning habits to achieve literacy effects by using less effort,but to bloom better results.The Chinese character-maken laws emphasize the basic rules of Chinese character construction rules,tailoring to human cognitive psychology,appreciating the rules of education,teaching and learning of Chinese characters.The third chapter looks into the application of Chinese Literacy Teaching in Malaysia Chinese Primary School.Teachers would use the "six categories of Chinese characters" theory to analyze the structure of Chinese characters,such as "Pictograms,Ideograms,Ideogrammic compounds and Phono-semantic compounds".It acts as the guidelines for students to learn Chinese characters and achieve the purpose of literacy teaching.The fourth chapter is meant to explore the effectiveness of literacy teaching with the method of Chinese character-maken law teaching.The summary of the result is shown by the use of the different literacy methods in these two schools.The fifth chapter shows the results and findings of the research.It gives the relevant conclusions about this research.The author had also analyzed the limitations of the above teaching method during its implementation process.
