The similar Chinese character”refers to the words with similar structure.For nearly two decades,the research which focuses on the definitions,reasons of formation,types and the methods of distinguishing is very common and has made some achievements,although a large part of it is from the perspective of teaching Chinese as a second language while the research on the similar Chinese character in Chinese textbook from the perspective of pupil is less.As we know,the limited cognitive ability and the nuances of strokes and components among the words lead to the mistakes made in the reading and writing.Therefore,the similar Chinese characters teaching is very significant and so is the research on it.In the essay,the generation of the similar characters table is based on the word list in Chinese textbooks for primary school published by Beijing Normal University and the method adopted—— “computer programs + existing word table + human judgment”(CEH).At the same time,concentrating on the teaching method named “Chinese Etymology”,the article can help the students with the similar Chinese characters.Except for the Introduction and Conclusion,the article is composed of two parts: the first part is the study of the similar characters based on the Chinese textbooks for primary school published by Beijing Normal University.The details are as below: 1: Make a definition of the similar Chinese characters and adopt the method “CEH” to generate a list including 185 words groups.2: Discriminate 63 single words groups in accordance with the shape,number,component and position of the stroke.3.Discriminate 122 compound characters groups on the basis of the similar shape,position and number of radicals.The second part which has taken advantage of the similar Chinese table generated above,is based on the teaching method named “Chinese Etymology”.In order to prove that Chinese Etymology literacy method plays a significant role in the similar Chinese characters teaching and can be used for reference,here we can make an experience as below:Time: Grade 6 of primary schoolSubject: ChineseContent: Review of the similar Chinese charactersMethod: Experimentation,analytical method(combining the essence with the quantitative research)Details: The students will be divided into two groups.One group will be taught through the “Chinese Etymology”,the other group will be taught through conventional method.Then,we need to analyze the data collected in the test.The essay itself not only makes some innovations on the generation of the characters table,but also makes some beneficial exploration on the teaching and learning.It provides valuable reference for the teaching of the similar Chinese characters in primary school.
