As a vulnerable group, orphans are the key targets of China's welfare and social assistance. In 2010,the State Council issued the "Opinions on Strengthening the Work of Orphans",requiring the establishment of an orphan protection system nationwide to protect the lives of underage orphans from all aspects. At present, the state and all sectors of society have taken measures to rescue orphan groups. The quality of life of orphans has improved significantly compared with the past, especially the rise of orphan schools in various places not only provides a new direction for the development of orphans, but also for orphans. The group provides a relatively secure environment for growth. However, the attention of the state and the community to orphan groups is mainly focused on material life, and the psychological problems of orphans are equally important.Self-confidence is an important personality quality, and even largely determines whether a person can succeed.Adolescence is a crucial period for the formation of self-confidence.Self-confidence has an important influence on the formation of adolescents' character, the merits of their achievements, and the achievements of their careers.Orphan groups, due to their special life experiences, will largely suffer from insufficient self-confidence,which is particularly detrimental to their healthy growth. The author hopes that with this research, professional social work methods can be used to help young orphan groups improve their self-confidence.The author entered the orphan school to conduct on-the-spot investigations, observe their living environment and living habits, and understand their self-confidence development. The natural observation method, interview method, scale method and literature method are the main research tools, and self-confidence for the orphan group.Insufficient problems were investigated and analyzed, and the results obtained from the measurements were analyzed. It was found that the orphans' self-confidence was generally low,and then through the usual conversations with teachers and students, the author believes that the intervention of the orphan group s self-confidence is very large.necessity.This study analyzes and organizes the survey results. The speciality of the orphan group has developed a group work service plan:guided by the relevant theories of rational emotional therapy, using the professional methods of group work, intervening to improve the self-confidence of orphan groups and helping them analyze themselves. The irrational beliefs in the concept reshape the self-cognitive system, enhance their positive self-awareness,improve their communicative competence and enhance group cohesion,in order to improve their self-confidence and cultivate positive and optimistic personality quality;A feasible practical intervention model to enhance the self-confidence of orphan groups and promote the active and healthy growth and development of orphan groups.Generally speaking, this study intervenes in the self-confidence of orphans through the group work method from the perspective of rational emotional therapy, promotes the development of social work theory, and improves the social work knowledge system.Secondly,it conducts an in-depth analysis of the irrational beliefs and behaviors of orphan groups lacking self-confidence,adopts professional social work methods to intervene, helps orphan groups to get rid of irrational beliefs, establish rational cognitive thinking, and rebuild the self-confidence system. Finally, this study makes a useful exploration of the rational emotional therapy model applied to the intervention of adolescent orphan groups.
