In recent years,with the frequent occurrence of junior high school students’ suicides,campus bullying,teenage pregnancy and other problems,junior high school students’ problem behavior has become the focus of social concern.It has been found that life events and self-control of junior high school students are related to problem behavior.Life events are events that cause individual stress in daily life.Self-control is the ability to regulate the state of self psychological behavior in self consciousness.The problem behavior of junior high school students is produced under the joint action of the former two factors.However,there is still a blank in the study of the relationship among these three factors.This paper studies the life events,self-control and problem behavior of junior high school students and their relationship,which is of great significance to clarify the causes and mechanisms of junior high school students’ problem behavior and explore coping styles.This paper sorts out the life events,self-control and problem behavior of junior high school students by the method of literature,and deduces the logical hypothesis.506 junior high school students were selected by cluster sampling to carry out a questionnaire survey and then the collected data were analyzed in a descriptive way.The statistical analysis method of structural equation model and propensity score matching is used to verify the intermediary effect of self-control.By verifying the hypotheses,the results of this paper are as follows:(1)The scores of life events and problem behavior of junior high school students are generally low,and their self-control scores are at the middle level;(2)There are significant grade differences in life events,self-control and problem behavior among junior high school students,which specifically showed that the higher the grade is,the lower the score is.There is a significant gender difference in problem behavior,and junior high school boys scored higher;(3)The correlation coefficient between life events and problem behavior of junior highschool students is significant and has a positive predictive effect on problem behavior,which indicates that life events of junior high school students are risk factors of problem behavior;(4)There is a high correlation between self-control and life events in junior high school students,and life events have a significant negative effect on self-control;(5)The self-control of junior high school students has significant mediating effect on life events and problem behaviors;In the cross-group comparison of the intermediate effects of junior high school students’ self-control,there was no evidence of the regulatory effect on gender,grade with only or non-only child;(6)After matching the propensity score of life events in junior middle school students,the influence of self-control on problem behavior is still significant,which indicates that the difference of self-control between junior high school students is one of the causes of the problem behavior.According to the results of empirical research,it can be concluded that life events of junior high school students are risk factors of problem behavior,and it has to affect the problem behavior through the intermediary variable of self-control.The self-control of junior high school students is the protective factor of problem behavior,and the differences in self-control can affect the probability of problem behavior.
