The period in junior high school is a golden period for cultivating reading interest and expanding reading content.The reading of masterpieces has become an inseparable part of the learning and life in junior high school,which plays an important role in improving the application ability and comprehensive quality of junior high school students.Many educators are aware of the importance of reading masterpieces,conducting a series of studies and applied them to practice,so that the content of Chinese extracurricular reading for junior high school students has been expanded accordingly.However,as far as the current situation of Chinese education in junior high schools,there are still many problems in the reading of Chinese masterpieces for junior high school students.With the deepening of the new curriculum reform,the reading of masterpieces has been paid more and more attention,and the question of reading masterpieces has become the compulsory content of the examination paper for the senior high school entrance examination.The reading questions in the senior high school entrance examinations make the readings of students with an utilitarian feature,which is free from the spiritual pleasure brought by reading itself for people.The students hold a vague attitude towards the reading of masterpieces,and they do not fully recognize the intrinsic value of reading masterpieces.The content of the students reading the masterpieces is single,and the reading situation of the classical masterpieces is not satisfactory.The students reading masterpieces lack the guidance of teachers,and their reading effect is not significant,if things go on like this,the reading of masterpieces by junior high school students will be difficult to meet the new requirements of the Chinese Curriculum Standards,and the Chinese learning ability and Chinese literacy of students will not be able to be truly improved.The No.9 Junior High School in Jiaohe City is a junior high school with a profound history and culture,which has always advocated reading activities and always insisted on reading activities.On this basis,the school has also proposed a new teaching goal,that is,striving to make every student develop a good habit of reading.At the beginning of 2018,the school has set a reading class named“Amazing Masterpiece”,which is taught once a week.Therefore,the author holds the opinion that it is very meaningful to investigate and study the current situation of the reading class named "Amazing Masterpiece" at the No.9 Junior High School in Jiaohe City.In response to this situation,this paper has firstly analyzed the background and significance of reading,and points out the relevant theoretical basis.Through the investigation and analysis of the teaching situation of the reading class named "Amazing Masterpiece" at the No.9 Junior High School in Jiaohe City,this paper has found out the problems and conducted analysis on them,trying to propose improvement strategies,in order to provide a basis for educators to carry out and guide the reading of Chinese masterpieces for junior high school students.The paper has conducted investigation and analysis of the teaching situation of the reading class named "Amazing Masterpiece" at the N o.9 Junior High School in Jiaohe City from the following five aspects.The first chapter is the introduction,including five aspects:the presentation of the topic,the purpose and significance of the research,the current status of the country and so on.The second chapter introduces the theoretical basis of teaching the reading of Chinese masterpieces for junior high school students.The third chapter mainly analyzes the reading class named "Amazing Masterpiece"from the design of the investigation process,the student and teacher questionnaire as well as the interview for teachers,aiming to find the inadequacies of teaching.The fourth chapter analyzes the achievements and problems in the teaching of the reading class named "Amazing Masterpiece" at the No.9 Junior High School in Jiaohe City,such as time constraints and large readings,single method and lack of guidance,low interest and strong utility;less reading and powerless reading.The fifth chapter is the optimization strategy for the teaching situation of the reading class named "Amazing Masterpiece" at the No.9 Junior High School in Jiaohe City,proposing corresponding improvement measures from several aspects such as school,teacher,student and family.The final is the summary of the paper,clarifying again the significance of this topic.
