Not only can reading accumulate knowledge, broaden horizons, develop thinking, enhance the humanity accomplishment, but also reading can enrich the spiritual world, temper willpower, shape favorable personality and healthy personality. The most important is that reading can carry forward the national culture, respect for cultural diversity and assimilate human outstanding culture nutrition. As the most outstanding in general reading, masterpiece reading should even more take this kind of function that make the middle school students to get the truth, the goodness, the beauty. In addition, the middle school students also can absorb spiritual nutrients from the masterpiece reading. So masterpiece reading must take responsibility to improve youth culture and the humanities. New standard of Chinese have made clear provision to masterpiece reading for middle school students, and the “masterpiece reading-guider” section has also become a big innovation that entered into The People’s Publishing Chinese textbooks. However, the masterpiece reading teaching has not really high efficiently implemented with good quality in actual teaching.The “masterpiece reading-guide” section in The People’s Publishing Chinese textbooks has seen as the research object and part of the teachers and students of HuangShi eighth middle school have seen as the investigation object in this paper. Use the methods of questionnaire, interview and other research methods to analysis the present situation of masterpiece reading and masterpiece teaching in middle school. Research and analysis found that students’ masterpiece reading has several problems, such as initiative is not enough, utilitarian is obvious, dabble in disequilibrium, the effect is not ideal, lack of identification ability as well as good reading habits. Similarly, masterpiece teaching also exists many problems, for example, strong utilitarian, difficult of the late follow up, inspection, implementation, and lack of strong support and guidance, etc.In view of the problems and summed up the reasons, insist on the principle of combining pre-class, in-class and post-class, the paper proposes these following solving strategies: Scientifically select the masterpiece reading contents; Guide the students’ mentality of masterpiece reading; Rich the teaching methods of masterpiece reading; Innovate measurement system of masterpiece reading; Cultivate the students’ masterpiece reading habits; Develop the masterpiece reading form, etc. By discussing more systematic, complete and effective masterpiece reading teaching strategies, a little bit of contributions have been expected to masterpiece reading teaching work in middle school.
