A Study On The Exercises Of Chinese Textbooks For Primary Schools

This thesis mainly study on the exercises of text book primary school Chinese which was co-edited by Singapore and China.By using the method of statistics and comparison and on the basis of combining investigation with relevant theories,the author studied exercises of the textbook.The analysis of the textbook exercises from the following four aspects:First,the amount of exercises.By counting the amount of exercises of each grade and each semester and comparing the range of the biggest number with the smallest one,I found that this textbook places great importance on practice and the number of exercises was very sufficient.But,as the grade increases,the amount of exercises decreases,which doesn't comply with the development of student's ability.Therefore,I proposed that the amount of exercises should increase according to the increase of grade and the year students study at school.We should ensure the amount of exercises,at the same time,ensure the quality of them.Second,the type of exercises.By analyzing the type of exercises and the distribution of each type of exercises,I found there are 227 types of exercises in this textbook,but the distribution of each type of exercises is not stable.So,I think the distribution of each type of exercises should maintain a stable level,combining conventional exercises with innovative ones.Third,the content of exercises.The content of exercise includes pronunciation,vocabulary,grammar,Chinese characters,I studied the distribution and reappearance of each kind of content and found that the distribution of them is not scientific and reappearance of them is too simple.So,I think the content of exercises should be gradual and make well transition.The reappearance of should obey to each stage and be further in contend than former one.Fourth,the aim of doing exercises.I will analyze the purposes of exercises from four basic language skills,including listening,speaking,reading and writing.And I will also count and analyze the mechanical exercises and communicative exercises.I found that this textbook placed high priority on reading,writing and mechanical exercises and gave less attention to listening,speaking and communicative exercises.Therefore,I proposed that we should place equal importance to mechanical exercises and communicative exercises.Finally,through the analysis of the amount,type,content and content of exercises and the result of questionnaire,I will give my own opinions about the design of exercises and how to solve exercises in the text book.I hope it will be helpful for others in the future.
