The Study Of The Identity Of Social Workers In Child Community Care

The community as an important part in children’s socialization,it has the responsibility and obligation to provide community care for children that are in the absence of supervision,no one tutoring homework and unhealthy entertainment to meet the needs of children,to ensure the safety and development of children and to build a harmonious community.And in order to ensure the professionalism and scientificity,social workers should intervene in the children’s community care.This article is based on identity theory and summer community custodial care project in Wuhan city as an example for case study,mainly through participatory observation method,questionnaire method and the unstructured interviews to collect relevant data,and to analyzes the identity of social worker in community care,the reasons for identity dilemma,and put forward corresponding countermeasures.Firstly,based on the case,this paper analyzes the the identity of four main body of service from the role position,work content,intervention motivation and rights and obligations,and it is found that social workers are confronted with multiple roles,the complex work content,the dual motive power,and the identity dilemma with no rights.Secondly,this paper analyzes in detail the social worker’s identity dilemma in children’s community care.That social workers should play these role such as resources links,children’s educators,service providers,policy makers,social workers also work hard to achieve these roles,but social worker roles are not as good as they might be,and the relationship between the rights and obligations is vague and the identity dilemma appears.And there are three main reasons for the social workers’ identity dilemma:the limited service level and the weakening of the social workers’ self role have led to role distance shackles;government administrative pressure,limited service resources,lack of responsibilities of social institutions and low remuneration have led to the dislocation of rights and obligations;the pressure of identity failure.Thirdly,in view of the social workers’ identity dilemma in children’s community care,this paper attempts to offer the corresponding improvement ideas,namely,strengthening social work training and improving social workers’ comprehensive quality;Strengthening social work supervision and provide psychological support;to promote social work legislation and define social workers’ rights and obligations.
