Abstract/Summary:
With the continuous development of China’s society,the demand for childcare services for school-age children generally exists in urban and rural community families.Communities in many places across the country have been exploring ways to meet the common needs of residents.Community social workers provide professional services to school-age children and their families in the form of "4:30 classes" and other forms to solve the practical difficulties of residents.However,most of the existing community trusteeship services are carried out in urban communities,and there are few rural communities that can provide similar services.Taking the "Children’s home" project in W Community,Chang ’an District,Xi ’an city as an example,this paper discusses the model and method suitable for the development of child care services in rural communities through the professional practice of participating in the construction and operation of children’s homes in rural communities.The present situation and existing problems of social work participation in community care for school-age children in rural communities are studied and discussed.On this basis,some feasible suggestions and countermeasures are put forward.Through the research,it is found that social workers provide community care services for school-age children by using their professional knowledge.Firstly,they solve the problems of parents counseling and nursing,promote the growth and development of children and socialization,and help children develop healthily and comprehensively.Second,it is the supplement and continuation of school education for students,consolidating and improving the effect of children’s school education;Third,it enhances the community residents’ sense of volunteerism and improves their sense of community identity and belonging.Social work in the process of participating in community care services for school-age children in rural communities has achieved some results,but also encountered some difficulties and problems.Limited service site conditions,scattered residence of service objects is not conducive to service development,lack of professional staff and high mobility,insufficient funds for activities,and lack of standardized management of relevant laws and regulations for community trusteeship.Combined with the exploration and analysis of the influencing factors of the above problems,this paper puts forward optimization suggestions from the government and social organizations.The government should enhance its own service consciousness,play the main role,establish and improve various management systems,and increase the investment of project funds.Secondly,we should strengthen community infrastructure construction and provide basic material guarantee for community public services.Finally,we should supervise and evaluate service projects,innovate the way of service purchase,and introduce more social organizations to participate.Social organizations should first take the initiative to broaden the source of funds,second,establish a cooperation mechanism with colleges and universities to link volunteer human resources,and third,strengthen the professional knowledge and skills training of staff to ensure the effectiveness and quality of project services.
