The optional class system has been pushed completely among high school students enrolled in Hainan Province in the fall of 2017,which is a brand-new education and teaching model.How to adapt the system to the high school education in Hainan Province rests upon the government's management and the academical exploration.The new mode of education and teaching has been well promoted at home and abroad,such as Zhejiang Province and Shanghai,contributing to the improvement of high school education and the teaching reform except some problems.Thereout,the teaching issues are to be analyzed,combined with the status quo of high school history teaching in Hainan Province,which comprise the limitation of the traditional evaluation system of exam that hinders the development of history teaching evaluation system in Hainan's senior middle schools,the single-form and time constraints of the history lesson,the restriction of traditional history courses based on summative assessment,a shortage of expertise of some historical teachers and drawbacks with the management system of middle school education.On the learning status of students in a middle school in Hainan Province where the optional class system was run in the pilot phase,most students have expressed satisfaction with the fact that courses could be selected according to their interests with the elective regulation,indicating wide acceptance of the teaching and exam reform and the optional class system.It is proposed that the critical point of the learning and teaching evaluation system lies in the optional class model,and suggested that the total system centering on teaching,learning,and teacher development in high school is to be constructed through the correct theoretical analysis and evaluation combined with Hainan's practice cases to solve the problems in the teaching system and examination system,and build an innovative and research-oriented high school history class.Then through the existing simulation history class in Hainan's high schools,analysis is conducted on the merits and demerits of its history teachers in implementing the practice class in the preparatory period of the optional class system.
