Basic education reform is a trend of global education in the 21 st century,China's education reform follows.History as a basic subject also carries on the reform constantly.As the most common and basic teaching resource in the history teaching activities of middle schools,history textbooks stipulate the basic content of the teaching of history subject and it has the dual functions of "learning" and "teaching".Textbooks partly reflect national will,and it Influence and shape students' outlook on life and values.It can be said that the compilation of textbooks is the most important part of history curriculum reform and should be paid more attention.We have always looked at China's image from our own standpoint,but ignored other countries' perceptions of China's national image.How to help students comprehensively and objectively understand the image of China through history teaching is the problem that education reform needs to solve.The compilation of history textbooks plays an important role in the maintenance and development of democratic society.The American history textbooks are full of ideological education,which reflects the values of capitalism and influences the historical identity and thinking orientation of teenagers.Middle school students are the future of the country.If they show a biased image of China,it will inevitably affect the normal exchanges between China and the United States in the future.This is also a matter of concern to Chinese history textbooks.How to use the education and the construction of "people" to build a good image of other countries and facilitate the exchanges between the normal countries of both sides.The paper is based on the content of the textbook written by McDougal Littell in the world history.Analysis the middle school history textbooks of China's national image shaping,through summing up the textbook in the different periods of China's national image:A vast and economically rich ancient civilization","An arrogant,self-appointed declining kingdom ","a volatile 'heresy'";On the basis of understanding the American's views on Chinese history,the factors that influence the shaping of China's national image are analyze.And summarizes the characteristics of the Chinese history content arrangement in the textbooks,knowledge construction system,the selection principle of historical issues for our country middle school history textbooks to build China's content system to provide the reference,for the domestic middle school history teaching with new teaching resources and knowledge system,using the latest history update teaching content,to better achieve the history education educational target.
