With the development of society, especially the popularization of western educational thought and educational practice in China, the traditional narrow utilitarian philosophy of education is gradually changing, education comes from life and will also return to life practice, that is to say, education is for a better life and the standard of the better life is individual subjective feelings of the whole life. This paper makes an empirical analysis based on the comprehensive survey data of China's social status(CSS2015),and focus on the influence of educational level and living condition on life satisfaction,at the same time, this paper mainly use the methods of multiple linear regression, propensity score matching(PSM)test and Sequential test to reveal the mechanism of action between the three. The results of the study are mainly the following aspects:First,on the level of average effect analysis based on multivariate linear regression,it is found that after controlling other variables, the degree of education and living conditions of residents(social society, leisure, family relations, family economy and living environment)have a significant positive effect on the total life satisfaction. The effect of status on total life satisfaction is obviously stronger than that of education.Second,on the net effect analysis based on the tendency matching,it is found that, the education degree and the living condition of the residents have a direct positive net effect on the total life satisfaction, the higher educationnal dgree and better living conditions the residents get,the more satisfication they feel;Third,on the mediating effect analysis based on the sequential test,it is found that the educational level of the respondents not only has a direct positive effect on the total life satisfaction, but also has an indirect positive effect on the total life satisfaction by the living conditions of Mediator variable. The above three analysis paths confirm the hypothesis from different aspects, that is,education level and living condition do have positive effects on total life satisfaction.
