Teaching design ability is one of the necessary and essential indicators for outstanding teachers.Not only the study of teachers' teaching design ability help to enrich the theory of education and teaching,promote the professional development of teachers,but also can effectively improve the classroom teaching rate,improve the quality of student learning,and promote the basic tasks of cultivating talents.This article mainly adopts four research methods: literature research method,observation method,questionnaire survey method and interview method.Through the study of existing literature,we can understand the perspectives,approaches of using and technical means of the current research on teaching design ability;therefore we can grasp the contemporary status of research and the development trends,in order to propose a new structure for the teaching design ability of junior middle school history teachers.That is: understanding and analyzing students ' ability,teaching goal analysis and compiling ability,teaching content reorganization ability,teaching strategy selection ability,teaching process design ability,teaching evaluation and reflection ability.What's more,these six major capabilities are further divided into general capabilities,major capabilities,and core capabilities.Through the questionnaires and interviews on the current state of the history teaching design of junior middle school teachers in the region,including the analysis of the overall status;it also analyzes the existing problems such as inadequate combination of teaching evaluation and reflection,lack of scientific teaching process design,and inadequate development of teaching resources.In addition,differences are also analyzed as a supplement.The countermeasures for improving the teaching design ability of history teachers in junior middle schools are further proposed.The countermeasures are mainly expressed in three aspects: studying the curriculum,designing the teaching plan rationally and deeply understanding the students' differences design and teacher training.With the advancement of the new curriculum reform and the development of education and teaching,new education and teaching theories will be produced and applied in teaching practice one after another.The level of teachers' ability will also change.Hence,the study of teachers' teaching design ability needs to continue to go deeper.
