Since 2013,Northwest Normal University has enrolled a total of 280 Donggan Chinese undergraduate students in Kyrgyzstan,Kazakhstan,Uzbekistan and other Central Asian regions for six consecutive years.Due to the increasing number and concentration of students,the difficulties and obstacles have become increasingly prominent in the teaching of cultural courses.For example,the differences in student levels and interests lead to many problems in the content and methods of teaching cultural courses;Dungan international students' cultural teaching teachers also said that some students are not aware of the importance of cultural learning,and most people hold a utilitarian attitude towards learning Chinese driven by the HSK exam.Although some students believe that cultural knowledge is closely related to life,and also recognize the necessity of “Do in Rome as Rome does”,but because of the boring curriculum or not interested in themselves,they also generate rejection emotions.This makes the teacher encounter great challenges on how to balance students' psychology,enhance the interest of cultural classes,and cultivate students' awareness of cultural exchanges.the author mainly analyzes the relevant content and teaching problems of the current cultural classes from the cultural courses of Dungan international students,and put forward feasible improvement suggestions to help students improve their overall Chinese proficiency.By studying the timetables and training programs,it is concluded that the proportion of Dungan students' cultural courses and language courses is too large.Compared with other universities' teaching Chinese as a foreign language,the courses are of a single type,lacking diversity and interest.There is a lack of practical link between teaching content.In view of the current problems in the teaching of cultural courses,this article mainly investigates students' interest orientation,learning motivation and employment direction through interviews and questionnaires based on the personality characteristics and cultural background of Dungan international students.In the course training concept,improve the current teaching level of cultural courses.From the teaching content,teaching methods,teachers' abilities and qualities,the existing problems are found and optimization strategies are proposed.Eventually,thegoal of culture serving language learning and language promotion of cultural dissemination will be achieved,so that Dungan will become a qualified language learner and cultural disseminator.
