Classical Chinese poetry is one of the heritage of Chinese culture.If foreign students want to understand Chinese culture better,they could learn some excellent classical Chinese poems.This article first analyzes the basic characteristics of classical Chinese poetry in three aspects,including language characteristics,aesthetics appreciation and cultural transmission between two languages.Linguistic features contain beautiful phonology,vivid words,refined sentences,and implicit expressions.Appreciation features involve human relations,emotion expression;lyrical scenes description,love of life,attentions of changes of four seasons;paintings of poetry,immerse poetry into painting.Ancient poems are luxuriant in culture,and Chinese people study and create ancient poems generation by generation,that is why the cultural heritage of ancient poems can be brought into play.After analyzing the basic characteristics of classical Chinese poems,we emphasize to study the perspectives of appreciation and teaching of ancient poems in international Chinese education in chapter three.It includes appreciation of poems from the perspective of rhyme scheme,words selection,artistic conception,cultural characteristics and experience of emotions.These factors will determine the basic content of ancient poetry teaching and guides the teaching design of ancient poetry appreciation.Focusing on the appreciation of poems,the fourth chapter will elaborate on the designs the ancient poetry education.The five themes of nature,affection,love,friendship,and homesickness are universal and shared by people of different cultural backgrounds and nations.Therefore,we select poems around these five themes,and choose two for each theme,for ten in total.A detailed teaching design of poetry appreciation would be shown later.The selection of poems mainly adheres to the principle of "easy to understand,can resonate with emotions,and be widely extolled".Instructional design can be used by teachers in poetry teaching.In order to test the design of ancient poetry appreciation teaching and explore the feasibility of ancient poetry appreciation teaching,we take three of the ten designs: Acacia,Your Ziyin and Jing Yesi for example to study.We invited Japanese and Korean students to participate in teaching practice in small classes.After the practice,questionnaire surveys and individual interviews would be given to the students to gather statistics of education effectiveness.Chapter 5 of the thesis is a summary of student feedback and my own comprehension of poetry education.The general recognition of poetry education is that teaching process is really meaningful and the appreciation of ancient poems are very popular among foreign students so the students are willing to learn it.Moreover,the teaching of appreciations of ancient poetry to students is feasible.Students can better understand the background of poem creation,meaning of words,rhythm characteristics,emotional expression,imagery in poetry and culture containing in poetry,etc.The methods appreciation of ancient poetry should be diversified appropriately and teachers could create conditions for students from multiple perspectives such as hearing,sight,and touch to allow them to experience the beauties of ancient Chinese poetry in all aspects and improve their understanding of Chinese culture.
