A Report On Translation Of Excerpts From Artificial Intelligence In Behavioral And Mental Health Care

Artificial intelligence technologies are already at work for human beings and are growing very fast.And these technologies are applied in transportation,weather forecast,logistics and warehousing,manufacturing and many other areas.However,the combination of artificial intelligence technologies and behavioral and mental health care is still a relatively new area.And there are few such kind of translation books in China.This translation report on Artificial Intelligence in Behavioral and Mental Health Care(Excerpt)aims to explore the translation skills and methods of EST text about medical AI at lexical,syntactic and textual level under the guidance of Peter Newmark’s semantic translation and communicative translation theory.This report mainly includes four parts: task description,process description,case analysis and conclusion.First,the author describes the selection and significance of the source text,as well as some problems to be solved;second,the author introduces background information,parallel texts reading,glossary building,source text analysis,theory guidance and the use of translation tools;finally,a detailed case analysis is made under Newmark’s theory.Three key problems have been solved in this report: gathering professional knowledge in the field of Artificial Intelligence,behavioral and mental health;translating long and complex sentences and paragraphs successfully;doing case analysis under the guidance of Peter Newmark’s translation theory.Through this translation report,the author further understands the differences between English and Chinese technological texts,and accumulates valuable experience for the future translation of EST text about medical AI.
